Dr. Michelle Williams

As a child growing up in rural Idaho, Dr. Williams loved to engage in imaginative play with her sisters, run through the fields and ride horses. She enjoyed camping with her friends and family, and spending any time possible laughing and chatting with those closest to her. She has always been interested in healthy living and exercise. She spent hours of her day choreographing and practicing for dance competitions and recitals with her local and high school teams. Family, friends and vitality have always been a main thread in Dr. Williams' image of a happy fulfilling life.

After becoming a parent, Dr. Williams realized so much of her passion toward vitality and life could be channeled into becoming a physician and helping others to implement healthy lifestyle choices to increase every day happiness and well being. This started her long journey through education and into Naturopathic Medicine.

She earned her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine in 2016 from National University of Natural Medicine and a Bachelors of Science from The Evergreen State College in 2010. At the Evergreen State College she developed a love for plant medicine and the study of pharmacokinetics of the plants and the biochemistry of the body. This love of plant medicine transferred over into her studies at NUNM where, in addition to the didactic portion of her education, she attended several botanical medicine retreats learning in nature with the plants.

While at NUNM she sat as Chapter President of the NMSA (Naturopathic Medical Student Association) for 2 consecutive years and was a contributor to the Women In Balance Newsletter. While sitting as President, she led her local team in raising enough money to provide scholarships for over 20 naturopathic medical students in travel to Washington DC to join other naturopathic physicians and students in the efforts to advance access to naturopathic medicine across the nation.

Dr. Williams’ passion has always been in women’s health, fertility and preconception, adolescent health and sex education. During her education she worked with many of the top ND’s in women’s health in the Portland area and attended over 40 births with licensed naturopathic midwives. In practice she has treated many women and adolescents with a wide array of hormonal conditions, and aided many couples in successful conception. She has also helped many people regain function and increase activity through regenerative medicine.

When Dr. Williams is not practicing medicine, learning more about medicine or helping to advance naturopathic medicine, she spends her days with her two boys, husband and pets at her home in Portland or on various outdoor adventures.
